Lucky Shot

"Running By"
This polite family had paused because I was taking a pic of just the mural, but I motioned for them to go ahead and pass, as they were running by, I captured this right at the perfect second.  I got lucky by the fact that they all look so happy.  As a friend of mine put it, "they look like the happiest family in the world..."

Easter in Buenos Aires

We are not religious. So Easter traditionally involves brunch at my mom’s home, and Easter baskets for my niece and nephew.  This year however, we are far from Denver.  Easter here is simple.  Not the over commercialized affair that takes place back home.  There are no plastic eggs, no marshmallow Peeps, no Easter egg hunts.  I spotted a few chocolate eggs for sale and olive branches and palms available for Palm Sunday.  Otherwise, people went to mass and passed the afternoon with their families.  Today, my husband, good friend Cesar and I spent the day walking around San Telmo.  We ate lunch at a lovely restaurant, drank coffee at our favorite cafĂ© and simple enjoyed each others company.  A nice Easter Sunday in our home away from home…

Lamps

I love to take pictures of people, but every once in a while an inanimate object (or in this case objects) makes a good photo subject…

The Sunday Job

Sunday Job
Argentina is a Catholic country and this week is a holy week.  While walking around today, I noticed people carrying around olive branches for Palm Sunday, an apparent Argentine tradition, and the first time I had ever see/heard of this. On my way to the park I spotted these two boys selling bundles.  The little guy one on the right was intently reading a Spanish copy of National Geographic, the other was taking his Sunday job very seriously...
